⚡ The 30-Second Answer
The STC visitor route
Saudi Arabia's biggest network sells eSIM-ready visitor packages from SAR 34.5 to 115 (1–20GB, 7–28 days) via the mystc app or stores — but every activation is identity-verified: passport, your border number from immigration, and Absher verification or a store visit. Good value once you're through it.
The no-registration route
A Saudi travel eSIM on Mobily's 5G network from $3.12 — no passport, no border number, no app enrolment. Installed at home, connected when you land in Jeddah or Riyadh.

Biggest Network
Saudi Arabia's largest coverage, including the heaviest tower presence around the Haram in Makkah
Visitor Packages
SAR 34.5–115, 1GB–20GB, 7–28 day validity, all eSIM-ready — sold via mystc app and stores
Identity Verified
Every Saudi SIM activation requires verification — passport + border number, via Absher or in store
Pilgrim Digital Route
Saudi authorities launched remote eSIM activation with Absher biometrics, aimed primarily at Hajj/Umrah pilgrims
What you don't get
A travel eSIM gives you no Saudi number, so Saudi bank and government OTPs still go to your home line. Most of our Saudi plans do run on STC (some on Mobily) — check the plan's network list.
Price Ballpark
SAR 34.5 ≈ $9.20 entry point; comparable travel eSIM data starts at $3.12 with zero admin
Getting an STC Visitor eSIM: The Real Process
Have your documents ready
Passport plus your Saudi border number — assigned at immigration and often printed on the visa sticker; STC staff can also look it up from your passport. Every Saudi SIM activation is identity-verified by law.
mystc app or STC store
In the mystc app: choose a visitor package, scan your visa/passport, and verify — Absher biometric verification covers eligible visitors (a route launched primarily for pilgrims). Otherwise, an STC store completes verification in person.
Activate the eSIM
Once verified, the eSIM activates via the app/QR code. Visitor packages run SAR 34.5–115 for 1–20GB over 7–28 days, some including local and international minutes.
Fair verdict: STC's visitor offering is solid and increasingly digital — if you want an STC line with a Saudi number and are comfortable with the verification steps, it's a good product. The friction is the verification itself: app enrolment, document scanning, and processes that occasionally still end at a store counter.
The No-Registration Route: Saudi Travel eSIM
eSIMfly's Saudi Arabia plans run on Mobily's 5G network — Saudi Arabia's second operator, with thorough coverage of Riyadh, Jeddah, Makkah, Madinah, and the intercity corridors. Because the eSIM roams rather than issuing a Saudi line, none of the verification applies:

STC eSIM FAQ
Can I get an STC eSIM before arriving in Saudi Arabia?
Generally no — visitor activation needs your border number, which is assigned at immigration. The exception is the Absher biometric route launched primarily for Hajj and Umrah pilgrims, which enables pre-travel activation for eligible visitors. For everyone else, pre-travel connectivity means a travel eSIM.
How much are STC visitor packages?
Roughly SAR 34.5 to SAR 115 (about $9.20-$30.70) for 1GB up to 20GB across 7-28 days, some bundles including local and international minutes. Confirm current bundles in the mystc app — offers change.
Does the eSIMfly Saudi eSIM use STC?
Yes, most of them do. Our Saudi plans from 1GB to 20GB run on STC and Zain, and the 50GB plan is STC-only; some other Saudi plans use Mobily instead. Check the network list on the plan before you buy. The difference that matters is process, not coverage: an eSIM installs before you fly with no branch visit. The STC visitor package is the way to get it.
Which is better for Umrah or Hajj?
Both networks cover the holy cities well, and at peak crowds everything slows equally. The practical difference is process: elderly pilgrims and groups benefit enormously from eSIMs set up at home with zero verification — see our dedicated Hajj & Umrah guide for the full strategy.
Do I need a Saudi number?
Only for Saudi OTP-dependent services (some local apps and deliveries). Nusuk, WhatsApp, maps, and ride apps work fine on data with your home number. If you need a Saudi number, STC's visitor package provides it; otherwise data-only is simpler.
