How to Install Your Bermuda eSIM
Before You Travel
- Check your phone supports eSIM — look for an EID under Settings, About Phone
- Make sure it is carrier-unlocked; a locked handset can refuse a second profile
- Buy the plan and scan the QR code at home, on WiFi you trust
- Label the line “Bermuda” so you can tell it apart from your home line
On Arrival
- Turn the eSIM line on and set it as your data line
- Turn data roaming ON for that line. A travel eSIM is a roaming line, so it gives you nothing until roaming is enabled for it specifically
- Leave your home line on for calls and texts if you want to keep your number reachable
- If nothing connects after a couple of minutes, toggle airplane mode for fifteen seconds
Pro tip: install the profile before departure but leave the line switched off. Turning it on when you land is what starts most plan clocks, so you do not burn a day of validity sitting in a departure lounge at home.

Troubleshooting Guide
No service after landing
The usual cause is data roaming being off on the eSIM line. A travel eSIM is a roaming line, so it will not pass data until roaming is enabled for that specific line. Turn it on, then toggle airplane mode for fifteen seconds. If it still will not attach, set network selection to manual and choose One Communications or Digicel — on the Caribbean Islands regional plan, Digicel.
It says LTE, never 5G
That is expected and not a fault. Every Bermuda network entry across our plans is marked 4G. The island does have a 5G network, but it belongs to Paradise Mobile, which none of our plans use.
Data disappearing faster than expected
Almost always background activity: photo library sync, app updates and cloud backup. Turn off automatic uploads over cellular before you arrive. On a 1 GB plan a single overnight photo sync can take the whole allowance.
The profile will not install once you are there
Downloading the eSIM profile itself needs a connection you do not have yet. That is why the profile goes onto the phone before you leave. If you are already in Bermuda, use your hotel, guesthouse or terminal WiFi to finish the install.

Which network does a Bermuda eSIM actually connect to?
Our Bermuda country plans declare two of the island’s three carriers: One Communications (listed in our coverage data both as "One Communications Bermuda" and under its older CellOne name) and Digicel. Both are listed as 4G. Our Caribbean Islands regional plan also covers Bermuda, but with one network only: Digicel. Bermuda has 5G. Will my eSIM get it?
No, and it is worth knowing before you buy. Paradise Mobile markets an island-wide 5G network in Bermuda, and it is the newest of the island’s three operators. None of our Bermuda plans list Paradise Mobile, and every network entry we hold for Bermuda is marked 4G. Plan for solid LTE, not 5G. This is not an eSIM limitation in general — it is which roaming agreements exist on this particular island.
Does a Caribbean regional plan cover Bermuda?
Ours does, which surprises people, because Bermuda is not in the Caribbean at all — it sits in the North Atlantic roughly 578 nautical miles east-southeast of Cape Hatteras, North Carolina, about 1,600 km north of the nearest Caribbean island. Despite the geography, the Caribbean Islands package in our catalogue lists BM among its countries, on Digicel. That makes it a genuine option if Bermuda is one leg of a wider trip. If Bermuda is the whole trip, compare it against the country plan on price and on the fact that the country plan gives you two networks instead of one. Do not assume this holds for any other seller’s Caribbean bundle: most regional Caribbean products leave Bermuda out precisely because it is not a Caribbean island.
How much data do I need for a week in Bermuda?
Bermuda is about 54 km² and you will spend most of your time on maps, messaging, ferry and bus timetables and photos. For a week, 3 to 5 GB is comfortable for that pattern. Will my eSIM work at sea, on a boat trip?
Only while you are within reach of a shore cell, and we cannot tell you how far out that is — no operator publishes an offshore coverage figure for Bermuda and we are not going to invent one. Treat anything beyond sight of land as no data, and take a chart and a VHF radio rather than relying on a phone.
Does my phone support eSIM?
Broadly: iPhone XS and XR onwards, Samsung Galaxy S20 onwards, Google Pixel 3 onwards, and most flagships from 2020. The reliable check is to look for an EID number under Settings, About Phone.
